First of all, you need to remember that the information in this answer cannot warrant medical advice, and that it is highly advisable that you pay a visit to your doctor who will be able to properly assess your symptoms and treat you correctly. This would all be based on the pain you describe and the visible appearance of your complaint. Secondly, it’s worthwhile to bear in mind that it is not your cheek bone that is swollen as bones cannot swell, it will just be the surrounding tissue area.

Think back to when you first started to notice the swelling. Is there anything in particular that could have caused it? Did you fall over and hit your face? Did somebody hit you? If this is the case, then there may not be anything to worry about. If you did injure yourself but it hasn’t gone down within a day or two, then you should consider visiting your doctor. You should also pay a visit if anything further happens to the area such as it begins to feel hot or you see blisters beginning to form.

If you cannot think of any reason why your cheek could be swollen then a trip to your doctors should definitely be the first thing on your to-do list. There could be a more serious underlying problem such as further damage or an infection.

In the meantime, you may find that applying something cold such as ice wrapped in a towel or tissue may help to relieve the pain or swelling.

I have the same problem.  My right cheek bone is swollen.  I've been to several doctors.  No one seems to think anything is wrong.  I went to bed fine one night, and then work up the next morning with one side of my face was swollen (only the area just under my right eye on my cheek bone).  First I thought it was a swollen sinus.  But after a trip to the doctor...nothing.  I went to the eye doctor...nothing.  One side of my face looks tired.  I am so frustrated.  Does anyone have any answers???

I have the same swelling happening occasionally to the tissue over the 'pointy' top part of my cheekbone, just below and outside of my left eye socket. It takes several days for it to disappear. I *think* it only happens when I have applied sunblock and gone for a run. It doesn't happen when I run without sunblock.
It will take me several weeks to experiment and develop a cause/effect relationship (with and without sunblock, with and without direct sun exposure and with and without exercise involved). I suspect it's a chemical allergy to the sunblock and will not occur without it.

I'm sure your cheek "bone" isn't swollen. Probably the surrounding tissues.
If you didn't injure yourself ,and have no reason for swelling or pain, you should see you Doctor.
If you did injure yourself, and the swelling hasn't subsided in a day or so, see your Doctor, if the area become hot and blisters the skin you should also see our Doctor as soon as possible.
