Long sightedness is corrected by wearing spectacles having convex lens of such a focal length which forms a virtual image of the object. Hence a clear image of the object is formed on retina.
Short sightedness can be corrected by wearing spectacle having suitable concave lens. This concave lens helps the light, coming from the object, to diverge.

For proper eyesight, the cornea and the lens must properly focus the light rays shining on the retina. But, if the length or shape of lens is not ideal, the light rays may get focused in front, leading to short-sightedness, or behind the retina, which lead to long-sightedness.

So, for short-sightedness, you use the diverging lenses ( which means concave lenses), and for short-sightedness, you use the converging lenses ( which means convex lenses). They would help correct your vision and get a clear images. You can use the spectacles with the specified lenses (convex or concave) and also help to treat your problem without any form of treatment that uses up lots of money.
