Thrush is an fungal infection due to candida species. It is also called candidiasis or yeast infection. Thrush can be in mouth, vagina and inside body. Yeast infection of mouth is called oral thrush while that of vagina is called vaginal thrush. All types of thrush can be treated by imidazole derivatives which are available in cream, tablets/capsules and oral gel forms. Vaginal thrush can be cause by pregnancy, use of birth control pills, hormones, antibiotics and cytostatics drugs.
