I had spinal fusion L5,L4, S1 11 months ago and since surgery I 've had nerve pain in my right foot(burning hard to bend my toes). I was taking 150 mg of Lyrica 2x's daily and 750mg of relafen 2xs daily. It doesnt seem to get any better. I can handle the pain when I take the Lyrica and vicodin, but who wants to live on medicine 24-7. I had a current CT Scan and MRI that shows the screws and bone are doing great. Why am I having so much pain down the lower leg and my foot. Should I consider another surgery? Very torn

Have you asked your Dr. If it may be the nerve root causing the pain? I had a herniation @ my L5 S1 and just had surgery 13 days ago. While he was in there he also did a fusion using cadaver bone due to the degeneration of my S1. Over the wknd I started hurting all the way down my right leg. I called right away and he called in a steroid (Dexamethesone 4 mg). Seems to be wkg well so far. I wish you the best. I have been in such pain for over a yr, so I definitely empathize. Take care.

I had my L4/L5 fused last October with screws and rods! Five month's later I had to go through it all again because the surgeon had put the screws in the wrong place!
From October to Feb I was in agony, after the second op I felt different and not in as much pain as before but 7 weeks later and I am still aching like crazy day and night and would like to know if this is normal?

I had surgery 12/07 and continue having pain. My doctor said this happend some times after surgery. The sad part it felt great after the surgery, i had pain but I knew it was from the surgery but after 8 week the pain before the surgey came back to the point that is hard for me to walk , stand or do any sitting for to long . I was forced into retirement and I'm going crazy . I feel I did a big mistake by having surgery I knew it was not going to be perfect but not like this. The pain is so bad
