Creatinine level is a measure of how well the kidneys are working to clear protien breakdown products from the blood.

Anything above about 1.7 indicates a decreasing kidney function. At 4.0 you may have to go on dialysis.

If you have not already, you need to see a renal (kidney) doctor to explain all this and help you manage your health.
