Cancer is basically when some of the bodies cells, divide abnormally and constantly. These cells invade healthy tissue. Treatment depends on the type of cancer one has, and what one is willing to put themselves through.

Here is the briefest of description. It is when some of the body’s cells begin to divide without stopping and spread into surrounding tissues.

Treatment depends on the type, where it is located, and how developed it is. My dog had a cancer tumor removed from her leg less than two weeks ago. After it was sent of for pathology, because of the type, (mast cell tumor) an the grade (I of III), the likelihood of it returning are slim.

I have had two basal cell carcinomas (skin cancer) removed over the last 8 years. Chances are I will see more, but I won't die from it. They simply cut it out.

My sister-in-law had brain cancer. She has surgery to remove most of it, but because of the type (sorry I don't know the name) it had "tendrils" that went into her brain that could not be removed. She had radiation to treat those. It only slowed the return of the cancer instead of removing it. She died about 10 years after first being diagnosed.

Cancer is not a single disease. It is actually more than one hundred distinct illnesses. Since body cells differ, the type of cancer depends on the type of cell in which it originates. However, what all cancers have in common is the abnormal growth of cells. This is referred to as malignancy, that is, the tendency to become progressively worse and to result possibly in death.

Yet, regardless of how much a person does to prevent cancer, and how well it is treated, from the human standpoint no cure is in view. But without a doubt a permanent cure is in sight! Man’s Creator, Jehovah God, knows why the human body breaks down and what must be done to counteract all sickness permanently. And soon, God’s heavenly kingdom will undertake work on behalf of mankind that will result in permanent cures for all diseases, including cancer.

Hi Dash, it's so good to see you on this site as well. I have to get used to this website, quite different from ask. :) I probably will stick with this site to do most of my informal witnessing.

That is encouraging to hear!

Evaluating which site to use, is not easy, so if you decided on something different- and I am still around (you know how that is), I would be pleased to know.

Did you add 'Paradise' to your screen name?

It's fitting, and nice.
I had to use letters, instead of digits, which would not enter properly, when I opened my account.

I sent you a test message from my chat box, but I don't know if it works, Ask didn't have such an option, I don't believe.

Let me know if you received it, please.

Cancer is the growth of abnormal cells, usually in a specific part of the body. Lung cancer is the growth of abnormal lung cells in one or both lungs. Knee cancer is abnormal cells in the knee. You can get cancer in pretty much any part of the body. The treatment depends on the type of cancer. Not all cancer treatments work effectively on all types of cancer. Also cancer is like the "common" cold. No two cancer cases are exactly alike. No two cancer cases will have the same reaction to treatment. That's what makes it so scary.

Some treatments include cutting out the cancer, chemotherapy, radiation, bone marrow transplant, and in the worst cases making the patient as comfortable as possible. Scientists and doctors are learning new things about different types of cancers and how to treat them every day. Every day brings new hope.
