Do you believe we were all put here for a purpose? (I am in no way religious *smile*) So if you give me an answer about religion, I may not agree but I will accept.

No, I don't believe so. I think that we're just random acts of nature that combined certain DNA. Our only purpose is to continue reproduction of the species. Anything else that we accomplish in our lives is up to the choices we make and circumstances that we encounter.

We are all an unrepeatable experiment.

Are task is to learn all that is learnable and take that information back to the source.

All you say, All you think, and all you do,refects on everything. This is a miracle.

Nah. For us to have been put here would require somebody or something to have done the putting.

Of course, that doesn't mean our lives need to be pointless and when we find our own purpose -- be it world-changing or mundane -- our lives become more enjoyable and more productive.

Wether it is true or not I like to think that I was put here for a reason. I think that I was given the ability to sing for a reason and it is my destiny to fullfill that reason.

Well, if you were put here for a purpose, who was the agent to whom you ascribe your purpose?---that concept usually begets "religion."

This is my concern too. I like to think that I'm the only one directing my life. I wouldn't welcome interference from the make believe sky father.

Make believe sky father *chuckles...* and to your answer, I do not believe we were all put here for a purpose, I only wish to study... I wanted to see what answers I'd get. Most, were about religion... I was testing a theory, how many could see what was wrong with the question? How many people would talk about religion out of spite? Or how many wouldn't understand the question and blindly agree with me? *smiles* I believe that we don't have a set purpose... We need to make our own decisions.

I'm not sure. Sometimes I believe I was put on this earth by mistake, like I have the worst life in the world. But then I think, wow I'm really selfish I mean some kids have it worse than I do and I'm over here complaining. I mean even though I got taken away from my mom because she's a drug addict, abused by her "boyfriends", she would go out at night a leave early with my brother in the middle of the night, I freaked out and cried. But I had to be strong. My father recently died, I haven't seen my siblings in 3 yrs. And he people I live with hate me. But people have it worse. Sorry, I just needed to get it out.

Everyone has their niche in life and they decide what it is and how long they want to do it before moving on to something else. At least this is true for those who live past infancy and are not designated for specific roles dictated by culture, Government, Church or disability.

I don't know that anyone is put here for a purpose, but I do believe people need to find their purpose. Or to put it another way, find their passion. If you do what you enjoy, you will be happier, and make those around you happier. Even if you can't make a living at it, do it as a hobby.

Something happened or we wouldn't be here. If we were put here to reproduce then what is the point in being consciously aware of that? What does it matter if we are aware of reproduction or not? We don't need to be consciously aware of ourselves to reproduce, or to live. Many creatures reproduce and live perfectly well in the realms of nature because they have no concept of death, they live in the moment. They happily play and reproduce. We however...a little bit different.

Science says conscious awareness makes us aware of our mortality, in that manner we seek to control and dominate our environment.  Look how unnatural we are? How we live in comparison to the rest of nature and this only came about several thousand years ago, the beginning of "civilisation." "Only humans" can take a greenland and turn it into concrete. We domesticated grasses and animals from there we have managed to genetically modify them. Humans explore, dissect and manipulate the environment without little thought for consequences. We do not adapt to suit our environment, we adapt our environment to suit us,  apparently. Yet we lived for thousands of years as nomad tribes, and never would have considered farming, why? Because sowing our food in one place makes it vulnerable to control. This is why today we have a state, and we are the citizens/individuals/plebs/persons/seftdom/fiefdom/freedmen.

The constitution gives you unalienable rights, this means as a citizen they cannot sell you. Still every person is owned by a state. But as a citizen you can only ever rent land, you cannot outrightly own it. You own deeds, in fact everything you own is in your title which is why it can be repossessed. You don't own anything, not even money, money is an IOU. So we went from freely living on land to servitude of the church, to that of the state. The Age Of Enlightenment, the Leviathan. Without "something" that has a direct link to us, we have no power. So who or what owns the earth? The universe? Why do I have a hand at the end of my arm and not a tree? Why exist at all? Do we exist? We exist because of something or else we'd be nothing (no religious idea implied). If not then our ancestors had no right to live on the land, and they did because they were part of it.

We live in the federal/judicial system, Rome.  George Orwell "Who controls the past controls the future and who controls the present controls the past." What is our purpose? It appears to discover the nature of the fence. However "the fence" means different things to different people.

I believe that I was put on Earth to help people appreciate art and/or history. I have a deep fascination with exotic cultures, paintings, statues, music, and history. I'm not really a good historian yet but with practice I think I can help those around me to appreciate the finer things in life and of our past.
