Am I depressed? My uncle passed away over the summer, and I just can't get over it. I have no will to do anything I can nearly want to get out of bed in the morning and I either don't want to eat at all or I am hungry all the time.

Ask yourself this, is the way youre acting what your Uncle would have wanted for you?  Unfortunately, everything on earth has a end but we owe it to them to carry on and make them proud of us in their honor.  I tell people who are depressed like you, to plant a tree in a place known to both of you so you can talk to him privately.  It wont bring your Uncle back but will give you some closure here and its always a great feeling to talk to those who have gone before us. It really works but time to start moving on with your Life and make your Uncle proud.  Sorry about your Uncle but start moving on and good luck

It's normal to be sad, but it sounds like you're not handling this loss very well.  Not sure if you're a teen or an adult.  If you're a teen, talk to your parents about getting some help.  If an adult, speak with your doctor to find someone who can help you deal with this better.  Good Luck.

You obviously loved your uncle very much and had a good relationship with him.  Do you really think he would want you to be so terribly sad that it's stopping you from having a normal life?

To answer your question yes you are depressed, you need to talk to your doctor there are things he/she can do for you, it won't be the first time they've had a patient with this problem, you just need some help to get through this.

Its not uncommon my losses go through my head at many times and they can be a downer but I always continue doing what im doing. I wouldnt let it control what you can or cant do. Just in case you think its just a you thing ect. - everyone gets hurt by bad things in many ways.

Have you been depressed before this ever?

How long have you felt that way? My suggestion: Try to kill the cycle. And If you're really depressed, I suppose you have to see a doc and get help.

Sorry for you troubles.

PS: You NEED to eat. We all must.
