I just checked on this. The shooter, who has been shot by SWAT, was a former employee who took the manager hostage.
My thinking on this is the guy can't be too smart. Why would go into a store that sells guns an start shooting? Especially in Texas. There are more guns per capita there than any other state, so you are pretty much guaranteed to have someone in the store that knows how to use a gun. He must have want to commit suicide by cop, or someone else.
