No, but mental health issues can make a person want to stay home, can't get out of bed, hard to leave your home and have issues with school.

If you're having mental health issues immediately inform your parents and/or school counselor.

Never pretend you have mental health issues just to stay home from school.

Is it typical teenage hormones or real mental health issues? If it is mental health issues, a doctor could probably write you a note for school.

There are occasions where a doctor can and will write you an excuse to miss school for a mental problem which may temporarily incapacitate you for school attendance and work.

How serious does it have to be?---well, whatever mental condition that could justify your staying home would probably be something you are currently under treatment for by a professional.

A typical bout of anxiety would probably not justify staying home.

I would say so...to some a mental illness can be just as debilitating (if not more so) as any physical illness.
