I am not a doctor, but here is what I know about it. I was born and raised my whole life on a farm, and am familiar with it. Don't be freaked out if you or someone you know has it. This is very easily treatable if taken care of right away.

Just be sure it is taken care of though, because it is very contagious.

People can get Ringworm from direct skin-to-skin contact with an infected person or pet, or from indirect contact with something an infected person or pet has touched. It is a contagious fungus infection that can affect the scalp, the body (particularly the groin area, so yes it can be on your butt), the feet, and the nails. Iit has nothing to do with worms. The name comes from the trademark red ring that appears on infected skin. It is easily treated with fungus-killing medicine which can be taken by moth in tablet or liquid form prescribed by your doctor, or as a cream applied directly to the affected areas.
