No, you can not. To have the shingles you must have had the chicken pox at some time in your life. There is a possibility that you had such a light case of chicken pox that you were not even aware that you had them...only 3 or 4 of the actual pox on the skin. Nevertheless, the answer remains the same no pox - no shingles.
I have never had chicken pox. I received the vaccination when I was 4 years old. It has been something that has been closely monitored in my life because of a condition I have. I have shingle though that occur once or twice a year on my back. What could cause this? Is it maybe because of the vaccine?
No you have to have had chicken pox before the virus stays in your body and later you can get shingles not every one gets shingles who have had chicken pox
I got shingles and never had chickenpox I even went to the doctors and it is the shingles
You can get the shingles without ever having had the chicken pox. If you have never had chicken pox you can catch shingles from someone who has them. I was just diagnosed with shingles and I have never had chicken pox. My immune system is lower due to steroids for RA.
