There are basically two types of Herpes one is Cold sores and the other is genital herpes.
Cold sore is caused by HSV1 (simplx type 1 virus). These cold sores attack the gums, they become red and swell like hell and tongue also become infected and person find difficultly in eating.

The cure for cold sores is present there are many creams which reduce the irritation. These creams and medicines can only help in decrease the pain but still the virus will last for 2 to 3 weeks.

This kind of herpes affect the genital area and blisters appears on the skin surface person feels pain, itching, irritation and tenderness. Other symptoms can be headache and fever. This kind of herpes last for 1 to 3 weeks. The cure for genital virus is for present but creams are present to reduce the pain.
