Pulmonary edema refers to swelling of lungs due to fluid accumulation. Severe Diffuse Pulmonary Edema is the severe form of this disease. It can cause impaired gas exchange and result in respiratory failure. The cause of the disease is often contributed to inadequate functioning of the heart and circulatory system, which causes Congestive heart failure. In simple words, the cause of death was swelling of lungs due to accumulation of blood and gases due Congestive heart failure.
