Surgical removal of tonsils is called tonsillectomy. The lymph nodes can be swollen due to infection. The swollen lymph nodes are not directly related with tonsillectomy. They can be swollen if the wounds of tonsillectomy were not healed properly and develop infection or due to any infection.
