Your liver is on the right side of your body, but the symptoms you describe don't seem to be related to the liver. Common symptoms of liver disease are usually yellowing of the skin and around the white of the eyes, darkened urine, and weight loss. I don't know if you have any other medical conditions or are taking medication, but what you describe could be as simple as water retention. The swelling and the weight gain could indicate something like that. I gained 70 pounds in about two months last year, and it was all water. In any event, you must see a doctor. If it is something serious, putting off a visit to a doctor could make matters worse, and if it's not serious, I'm sure you want to take care of the problem. Good luck.
