There are more than 70 causes of the swelling of the eyelids. This swelling can be due to conjunctivitis, allergic reaction, Blepharitis, stye, Chalazion, Chronic blepharitis, Kidney disorders, Cellulitis, Herpes simplex, Herpes zoster ophthalmicus, Insect bite, Atophy, Blunt trauma, Sebaceous cyst, Infected eye lash follicle etc. There are many more reasons of eyelid swelling. First aid for this swelling can be application of warm cloth but it will be good to see a doctor for proper diagnosis and most appropriate treatment.
