First contact your doctor and then follow the following guidelines.

• Covering contaminated areas is not enough: because infected person may touch the infected area of his body and when he touch objects around him those objects will be infected and hence other persons will be infected.

• Use antifungal balm or cream. Numerous antifungal creams are available in the market like 'Lamisil' is the most excellent creams but it needs doctor's recommendation.

• There are also substitute's medicines like tolnaftate and clotrimazole and so on. But all these medicines will reduce the irritation and swelling but don't kill the ringworm.

• Don't stop the treatment or medicine Keep on using them: when infection can not be seen on skin by human eye some people think that the ringworm is gone and stop using their medicine actually they are wrong they should use medicine for one more week because if they don't do that the ringworm will soon appear again. So keep on applying creams or gels for at least one extra week.

• Change bedding and never share towel – when you are treating the ringworm the don't use the same bedding try to change your bedding once use or also using the same clothes and towels will re-infect you. So wash cloths and towels once used.
