There are many causes of a low lymphocyte count. A viral infection will cause this as more lymphocytes are fighting off the virus. Other causes: Aplastic anemia (bone marrow isn't making enough), certain medications, autoimmune disorders, multiple sclerosis, guillaine-barre syndrome. It could be something simple like a cold, or it may be a symptom of something more serious.
Recent blood work show 559 Lymphocytes, Absolute with normal range 850-3900. What is cause and concern?
