Depends on cancer type, age, ethnicity, and adjunctive protocols and life style!

Certain interventions have prolonged life,....low glycemic diet (cancer love glucose) organic meats and produce, (pesticides and hormones never help bone marrow,) oxygen and alkaline therapies.

Let me start by saying that I am not a doctor of any kind but I have done extensive research on cancer over the past 2 years due to my mother and father both being diagnosed with lung cancer. In my mothers case she has metastases in her pancreas and spinal cord and was diagnosed as being stage 4. She received her last session of radium therapy today to try and shrink the lump in her spinal cord. Tomorrow she will go home and no further treatment will be given to her. Since she was admitted on 4 March 2009, her health and overall well-being have deteriorated dramatically and she seems to be worse this week. All they can do at the moment is keep her comfortable (pain treatment) with morphine patches and strong pain medication. Depending on the cancer, some types grow even more drastically once they have been treated, but your oncologist would be the best person to advise you on that and the expectant life expectancy.
