I would think so. That is, if it spreads to the kidneys. Since the kidneys would help to regulate the level of potassium in the blood, if the kidneys are temporarily messed up, you could have problems regulating it. (I was searching for something similar, and got the answers a while ago, and just decided to answer your question).
