Pet scanning is fairly new to cancer diagnosis. I participated in a University of Stanford study on the use of PET scanning to diagnosis cancer as I have had three cancer diagnoses. My understanding is that PET is very effective in diagnosing cancer of all types. It is most important that all dietary instructions be followed as that can effect the results.
