Essential oil on its own can be irritable to the skin. Once you know what you are doing, you can use it in the bath and even to massage it into the skin. The most effective way of using the oil however, is to put a drop or two onto your pillow at night.

Failing that, there are various herbal remedies available in the form of tablets, tea and in powders too. You should have no problem finding any as there should be loads of herbal remedies under the vitamin and health section of any supermarket or chemist.

Try drinking a warm glass of milk. Milk, like many dairy products contain tryptophan - a substance that is known to make you fall into slumber. Add that with some healthy carbohydrates, like cereal, oats, and you may fall right into sleep. Your sleeplessness may be a symptom of another disorder - sleep apnea, which is serious. Many people who die in their sleep suffer from this ailment. Please go see your doctor.
