Massage a little neem oil onto the scalp and hair before showering will kill the lice and eggs (do 2 days). Then, put about 5 tear drops of neem oil into any leave-in conditioner. Rub a small amount of the leave-in conditioner in your scalp and hair after you towel dry your hair- every time. You can blow dry or air dry hair as usual (do this until the lice scare is completely over to protect you from reinfestation). Neem oil is organic and safe for humans, but intolerable for lice. They cannot burrow or lay eggs and the eggs cannot mature or hatch. You should be free from the critters in days. You can buy neem oil at any health food store, and I think Target carries it as well.

My family had resistant headlice for four months. Finally after much research and after trying every product out there, I discovered that rubbing a little neem oil onto the scalp and hair before showering will kill the lice and eggs (do 2 days). Then, put about 5 tear drops of neem oil into any leave-in conditioner. Rub a small amount of the leave-in conditioner in your scalp and hair after you towel dry your hair- every time. They cannot burrow or lay eggs and the eggs cannot mature or hatch. You should be free from the critters in days. You can rub a little neem oil on the other areas of your skin that bother you. It is antifungal as well. Topical use only. You can buy neem oil at any health food store, and I think Target carries it as well. Best of luck

The cheapest and most effective way I know is to mix Tea Tree oil with your regular shampoo. Alone it smells bad but mixing it with your everyday shampoo will help reduce the unpleasantness. It works wonders. Believe me it was great when nothing else would work.

In order to get rid with head lice you will need to first check for live lice or even nits. You can even start with by using a sine tooth comb. You can also do it with the help of a tweezers or even with your very finger nails or even with help of any kind of tape around your fingers. Lice generally do not jump or even fly so it is easier to remove it out much more easily. Lice are generally very contagious so it is necessary that you find if anyone in the house is also presently having it. You may never known you would be the next scratching your head. After you comb, it will be better that you wash it in hot water for about 10 minutes. You can even try and apply olive oil or mayonnaise to clear it out.

Head Lice or Head Louse, are one of the many existing varieties of sucking lice. These lice are specialized to survive on various animals. As the name suggests head lice are present in human beings, mainly breeding on the hair on the head, they suck blood from the scalp. If the lice in the head of a child are in huge numbers, the easiest and most effective solution would be to shave off the hair. Lice can also be removed by using the special "Louse Comb". The head lice are commonly found on the scalp or neck hair of a human being.

You can also use agents like Malathion, however this agent should be left on the head for over eight hours for it to work. Other agents include Lindane, Permethrin.

It is difficult to get rid of head lice and their eggs completely by using natural remedies. You either have to shave your head or use some anti lice shampoo.
Following are the natural remedies which you can try to get rid of them. Mix yogurt and egg and then apply it on your head for half an hour. Afterwards wash your head with warm water. Another natural remedy is to use the Olive Oil regularly.
