My mam has had liver cancer for the past 4 years and has had a fairly gud quality of life. Since feb she has been deteriotating rapidily. She broke her hip 2 weeks ago and since then has been going down hill quickly. I was told on thursday she has only a few days less than a week. The white of her eyes are yellow and she has become distressed and aggitated. She is calling her dead sisters name and calling all the familys names..Today she didnt no who I was which was heart breaking. She is not eating or drinking and is on a morphine pump. Each day I pray that god will take her soon. I know that every case is different but that is my story. Best of luck and stay strong.
My daughter's dad was diagnosed with liver cancer just before christmas 2009. She left the UK a few weeks ago to spend time with him. He has really gone down hill rapidly. 4 days ago she and her aunt drove him to hospital because he was in so much pain. After 2 days in hospital they were told there was no more they could do for him and he was brought home by ambulance thursday afternoon. They were told he could pass away either by bleeding to death or just go in his sleep. I hate to say this but I feel now it will be through bleeding :( as he is bringing up litres of blood. My daughter feels he is aware of people around him, but unable to communicate. She sits with him and talks to him. This morning she phoned me to say that now he seems to be letting out groans when he exhales, he didn't do this yesterday, so I take it this is another step towards him passing. My daughter was told 3 days ago that they didn't think he would make it past saturday (today). I question why anyone should have to go through this, nothing more can be done, why allow someone to suffer like this in the final stages.
Liver cancer is probably the second worst cancer you can get. It is a very fast acting and deadly cancer. Stage IV is the final stage of liver cancer. The typical signs that you are in the final stage of liver cancer are as follows: The cancer has metastasized to other parts of the body, cirrosis of the liver, jaundice, very high fever, loss of apetite, and extreme pain primarily on the right side of the body.
My mom is at the last stage of liver cancer. Now her lung had collapsed. She has a difficult breathing. When she is breathing she looks so suffer and look like she is graping for air. And she is very tired and very weak. She does not want to eat any thing. When my mom trying to relax on her recliner chair she moaning a lot and talk to herself. With this condition right now. How long that my mom can last? I love my mom deeply and I hate to see my trying graping for air. Please help.
My daughter has fluid in her stomach ,two weeks ago she had two pints of blood, they did not know where she lost the blood from. She has been in treatment for four years from a stage four liver cancer. I would like to know if this may the beginning of the final fight
My father-in-law is in the final stages/days of liver cancer and he has lost his appetite and when he does eat it's usually something sweet and easy to digest like jello or pie. He has not had a "real" meal in well over a month. He sleeps all the time and his weight loss is picking up and the swelling of fluids is always constant. He is at home under the care of hospice, his wife and my wife (his daughter). His color is leaving his face and his pain is increasing. He is on liquid morphine and his mobility seems to decrease every day. I have a feeling it won't be long now. We just do not want him to suffer. He has had many visitors but has really gone down hill fast, even in the 2 weeks since Easter. I pray God takes him home before he really suffers.
God Bless you all My prayers are with you. With lung cancer and mets to the liver things are not good the survival rate is less than 1%. My father died this way. It is not a nice way to die after he was diagnosed with mets to the liver, he only lived about a month. He was tired restless sweaty could not eat increased difficulty breathy we had him on a morphine drip the last 3 days of his like he had slipped into a coma like state he gagged and coughed. I prayed to God to please just take him home. I am not trying to be negative but this was not nice for the family to watch We tried everything imaginable but like the bible says thy will be done. Your mom sounds like she survived a lot maybe she can rally. My prayers are with you and your family
My prayers are with you. Liver cancer (as with any cancer) is a terrible disease. Try to be strong and make sure you tell her you love her every day. Andy Marshall
Liver Cancer is a very deadly disease. The stages of Liver cancer are determined by the size of the tumor, whether there is cancer in more than one lobe of the liver, the growth of cancer around major blood vessels, the spread of cancer cells to the lymph nodes or other organs of the body. Here is a link to a website that discusses in detail the various stages of liver cancer: www.cancerhelp.org.uk
The person to become something other than what they have ever been known before. Their looks will change fast and the end usually is right behind. It is a second by second journey to the end.
