Still final and confirm diagnosis of multiple sclerosis is challenge because there are no specific tests to diagnose. It is diagnosed by clinical symptoms and excluding all alternatives. Brain lesions can also be due to some other disorders like brain tumors, Acute demyelinating encephalomyelitis, Essential tremor, Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, Inherited metabolic disorders, Primary CNS lymphoma and many more. I was diagnosed with MS just over a year ago.Spine was clear but I had several newer lesions on my brain scan.I am young and never had any symptoms before with no family history.I go to an MS specialist/research hospital, but I am still skeptical and wonder if it is possible it could be something else.I ask them this too...I hate the unknown. Thanks for taking the time and responding.
