Oral or vaginal thrush is not early sign of HIV. HIV attack on immune system and destroy its abilities to fight against infection. After transmission, HIV starts to multiply without any symptom. This period is called window period of HIV. Symptoms of HIV usually appear after 2-4 weeks and sometimes after 6 months. As the time passes away, immune system become weak and chances of bacterial, viral or fungal infections become high. Thrush is fungal infection and develop in HIV patients more frequently due to weak immunity. Treatment with imidazole derivatives respond very well but there is always recurrence.
