It has to do with the wood ticks. Sometimes when they bite you they spread a bacteria known as Lyme's Disease. She most likely got it from being bitten by a tick.
Some symptoms are fever, chills, headaches, fatigue, weakness, rashes, abnormal heartbeat and sometimes even arthritis-like symptoms (joint pain) etc.
