Often it is best to get drops, because it will go directly to the source of the problem. Sometimes, doctors will give bactrim for example for pink eye or other oral medications. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't help. Either way, pink eye can clear up on its own, but I think seeing a doctor and getting antibiotics is best and probably getting eyedrops is the better way to go. Sometimes, doctors don't give the eyedrops, because they think the drops sting a lot and then they give an oral medication. And, pink eye can be a virus and this is when it really doesn't matter what form or type of antibiotic that is given, because antibiotics are only for bacteria and non-virus things like parasites.
