Hernia is a disease is which is more common in males than in females. It is situation where there is a bulging of the vaginal walls, the uterus or the intestines. It occurs when an organ or fatty tissue protrudes through a weak point or tear in the muscles surrounding it. Femoral hernia is a type of hernia which is common in women than in men. There are several other types of hernias.

This hernia in women can be diagnosed by symptoms like a grape-sized lump in the groin. Pain and strain is also common. The best way to diagnose it in both men and women is to check up with a qualified doctor and take his expert advice. A layman would not be able to diagnose hernia most of the time. It is a condition that requires surgery and if neglected might cause serious complications which may even prove fatal.
