Type 2 Acromion is associated with higher rates of Impingement syndrome. The Supraspinatus (one of the Rotator Cuff muscles) passes bettween the Humerus (upper arm bone) and Acromion (which is part of the shoulder blade) With a Type 2 Acromion, less than usual space is allowed for the muscle to properly perform which leads to tendonopathy. Depending on severity, conservative treatment can be very helpful. Seek out a manual therapist (Chiro or PT) who practices myofascial relase techniques in combination with active rehabilitation such as Airrosti or A.R.T. (Active Release Technique) Some are well versed in Mulligan technique which may also be of some help.
I Have A Type 2 Acromion On Left Side With Severe Shoulder Pain, I've Been Experiencing Severe Neck Pain On The Left Side For About 2 Weeks Could This Be Associated With The Shoulder Pain?
Muscle pain, if left unattended, can spread as muscles where injury or pain first occurred will over compensate and cause stress, leading to more pain. If left untreated, soon, you will not be able to tell where pain originated from. Use hot and cold compressed. I would recomment an accupunturist, not that I am one, but they can resolve pain fast. Had a friend and I came down with same pain. She has been suffering for years. I went right away, tried chiropractors, didn't work, but with accupuncture, worked within a few sessions. You got to find someone who will give you a bit of an estimate. Be careful of those who charge a lot. A true healer is not in it for the money alone, but a true healer wants to heal. I recomment you check into it
I can tell you that I have the same thing happening except on the right side. I have been going to a physical therapist because of sever headaches and neck pain. The therapists explained that I am overcompensating with my neck due to shoulder pain, so I was doing shoulder exercises. No relief after 6 moths. I just had an MRI and have the same diagnoses as you. They are recommending surgery and I am going to do it. I am so tired of my head and neck strains. Good Luck to you!!
I have type 2, had MRI recently, have defects/tears. Waiting for the doctors advice this monday, waiting for the MRI films to be brought by my mom. Surgery might also be suggested. Huhuhuhu
Yes probably as muscles work closely together.
It may be impingement syndrome
