It sounds to me as if you've got a stye! External styes tend to look like red swellings, whereas internal styes often present as yellowish lumps on the inside of the eyelid.

What Is A Stye?
A stye is a boil or an abscess on your eyelid. They tend to show up when one of your eyelash follicles becomes infected, and will usually clear up after a couple of weeks.

What Are The Symptoms Of A Stye?
  • Pain
  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Yellow, pus-filled spot
  • Watering eye
  • Headaches (if the stye is putting pressure on your eye)
How Can I Treat A Stye?
If you're lucky, you won't have to do anything at all - your stye should go away after a few days. However, if it's still there after a week - or starts getting worse - you might want to see your doctor, who could prescribe you some antibiotics.

Applying heat to the area might also help, as this can encourage the liquids to drain away, which causes the swelling to go down.

In extreme cases, styes require a small operation. Your doctor might give you a local anaesthetic and pierce the stye, or cut into it and remove the eyelash with the infected follicle.

It is probably a stye. They sell ointment at the drugstore to treat them. If it doesn't go away, I would see an eye-doctor.
