Do Contact Lenses Contain Any Latex?

It is possible that the ones you are using contain traces of materials that are used in latex paints. If it contains PMMA (or polymethyl methacrylate), which it could do as they have developed lenses that combine PMMA with silicone, then this could be the case.

Another thing you could do (if you don't want to mention the brand on here) is get in touch with the supplier themselves asking what their lenses are made of, or indeed, at least letting you know if they contain latex or traces or materials used in the production of latex.

I have a severe latex allergy and i would like to know do contact lenses have latex in them. I notice every since I been using contact lenses I have more problems with my eyes and sinues

New contacts are now made with silicone, silicone can contain traces of latex.  If you have a mild intolerance to latex over time, by being exposing your self to it, it becomes a full blown allergy.  I speak from experience, I cannot even touch a rubber band without it burning my skin.

Hi I wear contact lenses but I have just discovered I am,allergic to latex, my eyes are hurting do you think this could be the problem

No. Latex is a natural material. Contacts are made from high-tech synthetics.
