Hemorrhoid can be infected. Infection is more common in external hemorrhoid and rare in internal. Chances of infection are high if you touch them with fingers which contain bacteria. Infected hemorrhoids are difficult to treat. To avoid hemorrhoid, don't let the constipation to exist for long and also take fibrous diet.
