It depends on what you believe you were exposed to. If you think its chlamydia or gonnorhea you would probably already have symptoms but they are curable. If its herpes then that can actually take up to seven yrs before anyone could even know they have it but flu like symptoms can be associated with it, and of course outbreaks. If you believe someone may have given you an std your safest bet is to go to a clinic and have it tested asap. The results can take about a week

Depends on what you have, some STD's you will never show symptoms of until it is to late and irreversible damage is done. Also you could be infecting other people unknowingly. If you suspect you (or your parner) have one you should both get yourselves tested, unfortunately the number of time you get tested will depend on your lifestyle and that of your partner - so you should always make sure you ask about their background if your going to move your relationship on to that level.

Some can show up in a couple of days, others in a couple of weeks but some might not even show at all. It really depends on what it is and the individual as every one has different reactions.
