I put up with a difficulty swallowing for a couple of months before getting it checked out. Was diagnosed with esophageal and stomach cancer. My symptoms did not come and go, they just progressively got worse. For your sake I'd go to the doctor and get this checked out right away. One of the causes of my kind of cancer or so I've been told is persistent heartburn, although mine was probably caused by excessive drinking.

Could be several reasons, but I agree with Rockstar. You really need to see a doctor to find out for sure what is going on, and don't put it off.

It's probably that your thyroid gland is swollen. There are many suggestions, but this one is the most common.
