Physical examination is necessary to diagnose your problem properly. The red patch on your tongue can be due to many reasons. This Red patch can be erythematous candidiasis which is one of the types of oral thrush. It is not the cancer. It is a fungal infection. The erythematous candidiasis is major characteristic of HIV infection but can also affect other people. In my opinion, you should visit a doctor for differential diagnosis and proper treatment.
