Sundowning or Sundown Syndrome is one of behavioral problems of people with Alzheimer's disease and Dementia that start when the sun goes down and all through the night.

Medications also could cause insomnia..review meds..diet..no caffeine or alcohol before bedtime).

In a similar way that babies get their days and nights 'mixed up', patiens suffering from dementia, alzheimers etc can do this too.  Also the condition often worsens in the evening, something called "sundowning syndrome"
check with the doctor to see if there is something to help.
