Individuals who are suffering with some sort of kidney problem often have pains in their lower back and the side that the affected kidney is on. These pains will often be quite severe and can be a symptom of polycystic kidney disease caused by large, fluid-filled cysts on the kidneys and also possibly the liver.

Kidney problems are not just noticeable by pain; there are other symptoms that can be related to failures in these organs. One of the most common and most noticeable symptoms of kidney problems is any change in urination. As kidneys make urine, any failure of the organ can be detected this way. These changes may include blood in the urine, difficulty and pressure when urinating, needing to urinate more often and your urine is pale, foamy or bubble or you may urine less often and it may be dark coloured.

If you are suffering with severe dizziness and are having trouble concentrating, this could be due to a lack of oxygen to the brain. Failure of the kidney can give you anemia, which in turn will give you these symptoms. Feeling cold all of the time, even in extreme heat, is also a sign of anemia. Any swelling in your body, particularly in the hands, feet, face and ankles, may be a sign of kidney failure as the kidneys are unable to remove excess liquid from your body. Kidneys that are not working to a high efficiency will not produce enough of the hormone erythropoietin, this tells your body to create oxygen-carrying red blood cells that in turn will you give you a lot of energy. If your kidneys are failing to make this hormone then it is likely that you will suffer with fatigue-like symptoms.

If you have any concerns that you may have problems with your kidneys, it is important to speak to a doctor. The sooner you can have a diagnosis made, the better your doctor will be able to help you.

If you have a kidney infection or kidney stones you will have severe lower back pain. You may also hurt where you bladder is located because usually when you have a kidney infection you will have the bladder infection to go with it.
