In addition to routine blood tests , a special blood test called alfa-fetoprotein or AFP test is conducted in order to know the liver cancer. The AFP is a protein produced by immature liver cells in fetus. This AFP is high in fetus. After birth it become normal. Its normal levels are 10bg/ml. A level of 500 or above in the blood indicates the liver cancer.
