Yes, you most definitely can pass the HIV virus onto your baby. Well, I work at a hospital and as soon as we admit any patients into the hospital for surgery or any other treatment then we do a HIV test on them and with mothers as soon as she is positive then we do a test on the baby as well and I will say that lots of the babies are born positive, this year so far there was only 4 that didn't show any signs of the virus as yet. The odds are most definitely against the baby in cases like this
