The prescription of morphine for pain management in bone cancer isn't an indicator of what stage you are in.  Ask the doctor what stage.  Morphine is given for all stages of cancer and other types of pain.  It's the dose and how often administered that would indicate the seriousness of the cancer..  God bless...

Its not easy to answer.bone cancer is a very painful cancer so it can actually be from stage one that you need help with pain. My mother needed pain relief with her bone cancer over a year!
