Unless you've had a recent injury to your ankle(s) unfortunately these symptoms are usually associated with either having diabetes, heart problems or just being excessively overweight, also high blood pressure. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I know from personal experience since I have three relatives with diabetes and two with heart problems , they are overweight and they all at some point suffer with the same thing. I also have the same symptoms due to being overweight, I do not have diabetes, high blood pressure or heart problems. But I find that eating foods high in sodium and not drinking enough water will lead my ankles to swell and cramp. My doctor always stresses the importance and losing weight in order to avoid all of the above illnesses and I am in the process of doing just that... Good luck to you:-)
