An ongoing fever which does not get better with home treatment means that you have a more serious illness, such as a bacterial infection. This fever is only a symptom. Often the importance of a fever can be determined when other symptoms are considered. A careful evaluation of your health helps you identify other symptoms that may be related to the fever. So you better check up with the doctor and take some medical tests.

My 31/2 year old has had a fever for the last three days. The lowest was 99 but every couple of hours its back to 104 to 105.
I have been giving her children's motrin every six to seven hours, lso I wipe her down with cool towel.
The only other symptoms have been no appetite and very low energy.
