It sure does for me. In fact I am going thru it right now. I usually get bad headaches and bad lower back pain leading up to an outbreak. So, yes, it does make your back hurt.

Hi, I would say YES. I get terrible lower back pain and it makes me feel fatigued and I feel 100 years old!. Not sure its been proven that the two are linked but I think it must be.

Herpes is caused by virus usually HSV1 and HSV 2. The backache is not typical sign of herpes. Among the signs of herpes, there is generalized pain and fatigue in muscle. Legs and buttock are most commonly affected.
