The doctor is the only person that can diagnose if your boyfriend has cirrhosis or not.
First symptoms of Alcoholic Liver Disease are abdominal pain, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
Some people may no suffer any of those symptoms, the alcoholic liver disease is then detected by liver blood tests during the investigation of other conditions or a routine health test.
First symptoms of cirrohsis are tiredness, weakness and loss of appetite, nausea and weight loss.
In the later stages of the disease symptoms are jaundice (yellow colouring of the eyes and skin), skin and nail changes, fluid retention, abnormal blood vessels, nosebleeds and easy bruising.
Please ask for advice to yor physician as cirrohsis is a fatal condition.
