This is really difficult to answer without knowing the precise details. First of all, it may depend on whether you’re male or female. Second of all, there are so many possibilities that it’s hard to diagnose over the Internet. You must remember that all you can receive over the Internet is suggestions about what the pain could be, and not real diagnostic help.

The first thing that would spring to mind is a kidney stone. Kidney stones are common amongst men and women, and left untreated could cause lower left groin pain. However, this pain would often be towards the back, considering the location of the kidneys.

Another common cause of a problem like this is IBS, something that many men and women suffer with without even realizing. Even a colon spasm could be the issue, something which you should definitely see a medical health professional about.

Are you sporty? You must not rule out an injury when it comes to constant pain. Is it possible that you have pulled a muscle or moved awkwardly whilst playing sports? If so, is it a pain that is gradually disappearing?

You shouldn’t immediately worry when it comes to issues like this. People can be too quick to jump to conclusions when they read things online, so the best thing to do is to get in touch with your doctor. Your doctor will be able to provide you with the very best advice, given their extensive knowledge, equipment and ability to ask you all the questions that they need to ask you.

Don’t worry. Whilst this kind of pain can sometimes signal some rather harmful problems, in relation to the testes for men, and the ovaries for women, you can never be sure without seeing your doctor. So get going!

I have the same pain.  The first time I ever had it was 11 years ago when I was pregnant.  They told me to use a heating pad.  After that pregnancy no problem.  Two years ago I had another baby and it was really bad and continued even after pregnancy.  It hurt to walk or to lift my left leg out to the side.  I recently had another baby and it is worse than ever.  I can not get comfortable to sleep.  The pain is deep within the bend of my leg and radiates down the inside of my left thigh.  I told my ob/gyn and she said it was muscular/skeletal.  I went to a chiropractor and it has not helped.  It feels like a burning nerve or something.  Is it like a vein or muscle???  I just want relief.  Anyone know what to do??

I have a bulging disk in my back, but I don;t think this is from that. I have the worst pain when I am in bed. I have tried everything like putting the pillow between my legs and a heating pad, but it doesn't matter which side I lay on the pain is the worst at night. A lot of times it aches like a tooth ache. It is so bad now I can't sleep.

If you are a male then groin pain can be due to testicular torsion, enlarged lymph nodes, orchitis, hernia, Epididymitis, kidney stone, muscle pull, testicular tumor, and infection. I am not sure about your blood clot but different investiagtions like ultrasound, blood tests and urine analysis are required for proper diagnosis. In my opinion, you should visit a doctor.

I am female, 41 and suffer like hell with this left side groin pain. It feels deep internal like burning throbbing. I don't know what it is. I have been to the doctor had xrays of my spine, internal ultrasound of my uterus, normal pap smear. Yet, I am in intense pain most of the time. It will let off sometime, however never fully goes away. Do I have a hernia? Is this what it is. No one should have to live in this much pain for almost a year. Please help me with your suggestions.

The pain in the groin is can be due to orchitis, hernia, vericocoele, uretheritis or infection due to a bacteria or virus. It can also be due to trauma or injury. The differential diagnosis is required for proper treatment.
